And time passes by like the fall of the barren yellow leaves on the trees… But not always are these leaves yellow… Sometimes, it’s green. sometimes it’s middle aged…
It’s just like humans. We don’t know where, when and how we would die.
Dying is a frail concept not explained in this society. It’s not about when you die. It’s about how you die. And that part is completely personal and would talk about it if someone comments I should write an entire blog about dying,..
We are mortal and we are destined to die. That’s the sad part, depending on how you see it. We have to leave this world one day or the other. But before that shitty thing happens, we need to have some fun for ourselves :)
But trust me, death isn’t a bad thing.
Honestly…
Birthday were never very special to me. But some days are truly significant in one’s life, whether the person likes it or not. I don’t hate it. And I’m sure there is a middle ground somewhere…
PS there’s always a middle ground.
And in this blog post… I’m gonna share my best 16 lessons out of the hundreds lessons I learnt about life.
SPOILER: This is going to be a completely personal post :)
1. Time is the Ultimate.
The only thing that binds us with the reality that exist in, is time. A four letter word, whose magnitude and power is often neglected by us, the mere mortals.
I asked my brother-cum-friend, his name is Shivam (amazingly smart, kind hearted trust worthy person), “If you had one thing to have as your super power… what would that be, Shivam da?”
Back then we used to talk on Emails, because both of us didn’t have phones… (He is 2 years senior to me in school) and the reply came… ‘Time’.
Probably back then (2 years behind, I was a pure dumb shit 🙂), I wasn’t mature enough to understand the value of this one thing. And now, I manage and maintain it every day. You ask me what I did on 21 July 2023, 7:15pm… I can show you because I am very ruthless with my time. I use this basic excel template with a custom formula to calculate the numbers of colored boxes (it takes 5 minutes what you are doing every single day (Also get Ankur Warikoo’s course excel sheets - free!))
Last week, my stats were:
There are three things to control materialistically in order to be in the top 0.01%…
Time.
Money.
Emotions.
And currently, in a position where I can control the 1st and the 3rd (almost 😅).
If you don’t value your time… it’ll fuck you right in the middle…
Trust me you won’t like it.
2. Think of the Long term.
Rome wasn’t build in a day - that’s the common phrase which everyone knows.
Here’s what most don’t know - Rome was built by laying bricks every single day…
Short term success is like a roller coaster… It goes fast up and then come down faster.
I learnt this while realizing that I have to step into this rat race anyhow… But the only thing which someone should really focus on for building long time wealth is to make systems which passively earns them money.
And just like Naval Ravikant says…
“If two equally difficult paths, choose the one more painful in the short term.”
We waste our time with short term thinking and busywork. Warren Buffett spends a year deciding and a day acting. That act lasts decades.
Think of the long term… Because that’s what lasts…
3. Unlearn EGO, Hatred, Greed.
It was from a YouTube motivation shorts…
“Son, here are your 3 worst enemies - Ego, Hatred, Greed.”
Now, I don’t watch any shorts … I don’t get enough time…
But what this wanted to say, was 100% true.
You cannot NOT DO these things as long as you KNOW these things…
You have to UNLEARN what you know.
If you unlearn EGO, You will become anti-fragile to what others talk about you.
If you unlearn Hatred, you would never become biased in your decisions and always choose what’s right.
If you unlearn Greed, you are not dependent on the world to give you anything…
You are free.
4. Be a good man, through and through.
The world is a cruel place… And there are no places for good people…
Well, the truly good people pay a far higher price for being good than being bad people pay for being bad.
There are two types of people… Givers and Takers. Takers eat well.
And Givers sleep well…. The good men are the givers.
Someone who freely gives never has a scarcity of something. Because the people also know what a man’s true characteristics are…
Being a good man… but to whom? Well, it starts with you. Take care of yourself, take are of your health, take care of your body.
Help others, contribute to the society, volunteers, take action, be a good man through and through even if no one appreciates your work. Just do it.
Trust me, every time you do something good, you rise a little bit in your own eyes ;)
5. Try, fail and learn. Every thing is a lesson.
Failures are never bad.
And the one who succeeds is the one who didn’t give up when he failed…
Life is all about lessons… And there are moments to learn from everything and everyone. Failures are just stepping stones to one’s success…
It’s important to learn and improve. That’s all.
6. Express yourself else, no one would know.
My father used to say this… ‘In this era, BLOW YOUR OWN HORN.’
And it is very much advantageous, I would say. Not on the lines of bragging what you achieved, how much money you earned, etc. But rather on the lines, of making other people aware of what you can do, what you have done, what are your skills, etc.
Net working is sooooooo easier than hard working. And who knows, the next door neighbor was just searching for a Maths tutor, which you could become.
Make others aware of your doings.
Share your YouTube video on groups.
Don’t think about what others would say/think. Things are temporary…
7. Know What YOU WANT…
The society makes you feel like selfish if you said ‘I wanted ………’
Instead of saying out what you want… what I want to emphasize on is TO KNOW WHAT YOU REALLY WANT ON THE INSIDE.
If you feel you are unhappy about it, accept it. Just simply accept it.
What’s your internal WHY? What drives you every day to wake up from your bed? What is that one reason for which you can spend your day for?
And it must not be a vague line of words… Instead, it should be a clear statement of what YOU REALLY WANT… (Don’t confuse with WHAT YOU SHOULD WANT (Fuck that))
My reasons to live: Experiences… I want to have the experience of manhood… I want to experience going to top colleges (MIT is my sole target), learn Quantum Physics, feel the responsibility of adulthood. I want to experience what ‘making love’ really feels like. I want to know more about wisdom, philosophy and delve myself into the realms of spirituality… I just want learn about them. Simply learn… That’s all. :)
What’s yours? Don’t need to tell me… Just keep a note to yourself ;)
8. Destiny takes time.
The world is already written or we are living in a simulation…
Well… it frankly doesn’t matter, I think.
The future exists in all its perfection considering all our choices and decisions. So, I believe in the middle ground.
There’s always a middle ground :)
Well, time has a way on its own. And when your time comes, you will surely shine. Before that, no matter how hard you try… it won’t happen.
You will feel that the world might not be against you. But there’s something else. Something you can feel deep in your heart but you can never convince your brain of it.
The conclusion: things would happen when they are meant to happen. Be patient. And don’t expect from anyone. Don’t hope. Just be.
What you really want to happen, would definitely happen, sooner or later…
Just like I wanted to experience true love, which brings us to the next point ;)
9. Love is amazing.
Love is a prison. From a perspective, yes…
But Love is the single thing which has the power to change anyone. And the best part: it’s free. It doesn’t take money to love someone. You can love anyone freely…
The romantic love has its own ways… The true and pure love is something which can’t be described if someone hasn’t already experienced it…
But if it’s true love and both-sided… you are experiencing the world’s best emotion.
Well, Radha… Loving you was the second best thing that ever happened to my life. Finding you was the first one.
Your presence is like the glowing Moon, lighting this entire dark sky of mine.
I will love you… always.
Conclusion: Fall in love. You will know what I’m saying :)
10. Learn. from anywhere and anyone.
Even a child can teach you to NEVER GIVE UP.
They are unafraid and fearless…
Even the mother bird would sacrifice her life to the snake in exchange of the lives of her children… That’s sacrifice.
The thing is … everyone’s better than you at something. At least something… And when you realize what’s that one thing… don’t take it to your ego. Learn from that person, whoever and whomever it may be.
11. Manipulate external variables.
Manipulation might be a very smart way of controlling your destiny.
But in a minor scale, what I mean is to consciously controlling your environment and other factors to give a boost to your subconscious.
Sometimes, these conscious tasks come to our minds but we don’t do it.
Perhaps, you have a love for watching animes. But you can’t stop yourself from watching animes even when you are studying.
What to do? You know that your studying is important.
Why not install a phone time out app… or just switch off your phone after watching the anime ep1… 📱📴
You will see that the next time you are thinking of opening up your phone… you are not feeling it.
Why is this happening? Because we humans follow the path of least resistance.
Thus, you can make your environment first class, just so apt that when you enter it, you feel like doing what you should do in that environment…
That’s the whole point why focused and determined people still switched to their work clothes while working in the lock down.
12. Parents would always be there.
Trust me, it gets very demotivating sometimes…
They don’t understand you. They don’t give a damn about what you think.
They don’t support you enough. They don’t listen…
But … don’t ever hate them. They are our parents after all. They have at least a decade or even more years of life experience than us. And perhaps, there is a reason why they are saying what they are saying… 🙂
And trust me, they are always gonna be there. Even if you are broke, even if you don’t feel good enough, even if you are suffering… just open up. They would always be there for you :)
They don’t show but they secretly care a lot :)
13. Finding inner peace.
Through the rough life and problems that we all go through…
We all are running and running. And it’s after something or the other.
And after we have reached/achieved that one thing, we are empty. After all, what kills a dream is to have it come true.
Habits build you, Goals lay you barren.
And it’s very important to find your inner peace. Because when it’s all gone… you would still be left with yourself and your mind…
Either the mind would make you crazy or you would control your mind to achieve inner peace.
I’ve detailed tutorial here. 👇
14. Experiences.
Run after them.
And experiences are personal. You must feel it. You must analyze it yourself. And life is just an amalgamation of your little experiences.
Seek different experiences. And in the end, make a good picture of life in front of you :)
15. The Why must be crystal clear
‘Why are you alive? What’s your inner reason to do what you do?
These are important questions. And these are the real things which determine where your destiny takes you.
Because why you want, determines what you would get.
A man who has a clear why can almost bear any how…
So, your WHY must be crystal clear to you.
16. Death will come, acceptance.
Acceptance is a major part of life… And the one who has mastered the art of acceptance, holds his inner peace strong.
Sustained inner peace can only come if someone practices acceptance in his/her daily life.
And the greatest acceptance is the acceptance of death.
The destiny that awaits us all.
The day you are ready to ‘accept’ to die the next moment, you will realize that sadness can never touch you. You will be a happy man.
And that’s all… perhaps, this post was too big for an email. hmmm… Gmail shorts down email to make them less than 102KB… Anyways. I hope you had fun reading this :)
I tried my best to keep things engaging with GIFs and Images (writings takes as much time as finding the right emojis, gifs and images… )
Do you think GOJO really died? Let me know in the comments :)
As far as I can see, you have a very creative mind, and writing is the ideal career for you. This is perspicuous.
this is genuinely a great list, keep it up!
